Understanding Endometriosis: Signs and Causes

Endometriosis is a problem that affects one-in-ten women and is the most widespread of the reproductive health issues which affect women. Although the condition is indeed widespread it can take a long time for OB/GYNs as well as other providers of well-woman care to identify.

One reason could be the fact that many women do not be aware of the term and think that they're an ordinary phase of the menstrual cycle. If you are facing the problem of endometriosis you can navigate to endometriosisassn.org/about-endometriosis/causes for the best treatment.

Women should be educated about the signs and symptoms of endometriosis it can cause. This will allow them to identify any problems promptly and accurately.

What is the reason for endometriosis?

The tissue that runs along the uterus is known as the endometrium. The endometrium is the part that responds to the woman's hormones. The abdomen gets thicker to make room for pregnancy. The lining will shed throughout the monthly period if pregnancy is not real.

Endometriosis occurs when the endometrium lining develops outside of the uterus. It isn't known exactly why, but the cause is unclear, researchers believe it's caused by the hormones of women and their immune systems.

Endometrial tissue may be found outside the uterus, or the pelvic floor, or rectum and on the ligaments that support it, and on the fallopian tubes and the ovaries. While it isn't located in the uterus, it reacts to the women's hormone cycle.
